Dear Nonno,
I know you knew how much I love you, this will never change. To think I would have never met you if you never survived 26 years ago. I am for ever grateful to have known you for 20 years of my life. 20 years was not enough, but I am forever grateful for every one of these years. I miss you so much already, but I’m glad you are no longer suffering. You tried up until the last moments to put on a painless face. Sadly it was your time to move on to a better place. A pain free place. I will have you forever in my heart, and I will always know you’re with me on my life journey, eventually back to you. As my last words to you were, “I’ll see you soon”, just now I can not put a time frame on ‘soon’. Until then I hope I make you proud, and I am so proud to call you my Nonno.
