Happy Mother’s Day, mom. I know we don’t get to be around each other as much since I spend most of my time working or with my girlfriend, Laptop, but I just wanted to say that if it wasn’t for you, I never would have learned the lessons and morals that I know and utilize on a daily basis. And even though you had to get that cable removed from your back, you were still able to teach me and make me laugh. I love you. Thank you for raising me.

…have no clue what I shot that with. don’t recall owning anything that shot square. recall though that it was the  last night I spent in a house beloved but left and sold to a dear friend for what i got it for so i could move to ny with girlfriend at time. same dear friend got tattooed by me that night, a circle or or something i could barely manage, convinced he was by some manic quest/bender I was on to learn how to tattoo when i could barely trace.  i was sleeping in same dear friend’s office loft having moved to ny with that girl, moved back with her to la, then split up,  and living out of suitcase within a year of this picture and within weeping distance of  that old home of mine just around the time that housing bubble was getting good and swollen and did right by ’50s numbers in silver lake. 

My increasingly amazing boyfriend spent Tuesday afternoon recording Patti Smith, and he managed to sneak away with a personalized signed copy of ‘Just Kids’ for me!
