TOO RIGHT!
Final Boards
This is the first of four final boards for my Happy Birthday Box Picnic (what a gob full!) and to be honest I haven’t particularly enjoyed the whole process of this entire project, I think if I had just done it at the start and actually had time to make and craft the entire picnic and photograph it ( which I intend to do!) then I would be alot happier with it, I always seem to struggle with competition briefs, and I think for me it’s because I have too much choice….
Anyway the concept is a birthday picnic for those little birthdays like your 23rd, or 31st Birthday. Are you really going to go all out every year for your birthday? If you are I envy you! This is designed as a present in itself, where you can take your friend or family member out for a nice picnic.
The picnic, being based around a small birthday, has the food theme of miniature, and works around the tag line of : For those birthdays that aren’t that big but just as special.
The styling is based around a childrens birthday party, because we are all big kids at heart, I felt this could lure the M&S customers, who probably have professional careers will want to unwind and de-stress more often than not!
Like I said I’m happy with the idea ( considering this time last week I had only just started this idea!) but I would be happier if it were photographed, and the fact I had dilly daddled for 4 weeks picking ideas…
Final major project next! Onwards and upwards!
This is my first video for my laughter brief. I’ve used expressions in After Effects to get the effects to beat in time with the music. I think I need to make the mouth a bit more exaggerated in the final one but the eyes are more or less ok. I’m going to do a few different ones to different types of music to show how it will work on the website.
P.S. excuse the crap dancing!!
So this is the final of one of the self initiated illustrations I started over summer. Inspired by a lot of zombie games/films and other horrible stuff… I had the idea in mind to try and emulate the look of white blood cells dividing and absorbing infections in the detail of the illustration. I’ve learnt a lot doing this piece not just software wise but how I work as an illustrator and how I could have streamlined the process but I’m happy with the end result. Don’t expect much more of my work to look too much like this in future though, I’ve still got a bit to learn about overall composition in a piece and cutting down the amount of layers and unnessecary detail without loosing anything interesting. Also need to work from a more detailed sketch to begin with and use a more limited colour palette maybe. Anyway, stay tuned for some more personal work appearing on here soon between uni projects.
Oh and check out my Behance profile for some detail shots ;)
