I recently discovered the hospital I work at has a gym (they use it for cardic rehab during the day) but I am free to use it at night. I went after work tonight and I just want to eat everything. I already had a taco and now I want cereal and I just feel awesome and lazy and stinky.

I was inspired to get this when my brother, Ross, passed away in March of 2011 and we had a tree planted for him in the holy gardens of Jerusalem. I only knew him when we lived together as children, his passing made me realize that my family is only as scattered as I make it to be. Ross made me realize that everything I could ever come to love can leave me just as quickly as they came. The tree is family and inner strength, the leaf is Ross, the sun is new beginnings.
The design was draw by my friend Mason ( http://livingthroughpages.tumblr.com/) He’s an absolutely gifted artist as well a wonderful person. (He’s drawn a lot of his own portraits.) I was inked by the incredible Korie of Jim’s Tattoo in Seabrook, New Hampshire. He’s undoubtedly one of the best people I have ever had the pleasure of chatting with. I highly recommend them.

No gym membership? Can’t ride the bike on rainy day? Want to switch up your cardio?
Try this home workout. You don’t need any equipment!
The time of each exercise, rest between groups and number or rounds should be adjusted based on your fitness level. These are examples:
Beginner: Round 1 (group 1-3)
Each exercise for 30 seconds
1:00 rest between groups
Round 2 (group 2-3)
Each exercise for 15 seconds
1:00 rest between groups
Intermediate: Round 1 (Group 1-3)
Each exercise for 1:00
1:00 rest between groups
Round 2 (Group 1-3)
Each exercise for 30 seconds
1;00 rest between groups
Advanced: Round 1 (Group 1-3)
Each exercise for 1:00
no rest between groups
Round 2 (groups 1-3)
Each exercise for :45 seconds
15 second rest between groups
Round 3 (groups 1-3)
Each exercise 30 seconds
15 second rest between groups
But, of course, adjust to your own needs.
Group 1:

I am pretty bummed that my scars are uneven in height, but y’know what?
I feel great about my chest. Uneven scars, stretch marks, whatever.
It’s my chest. It’s now the way it’s supposed to be: flat (except for my pecs which are suprisingly present..)
And I love it.

And though it’s kind of hard to see in this light, the scar is already fading on the side close to my armpit. It’s a month and some change post-surgery, and already the line is starting to go pale and blend in.
