damn, so tonight at work somebody came in who i thought i recognized and i was like “who is that” and then i realized oh, dean spade. of course. and then i realized he was with somebody i know who i worked with when i Had Potential and Was Smart and then i realized it was a whole group of people who had just come from this event i had been invited to, at the queer youth center i helped raise money for (which is what i organized with the person i knew, which is why i have so many ghosts in seattle, which is also a block down the street from where i work)
so tonight i served ice cream to a bunch of really famous queers who go to school and a semi-famous organizer i knew when i was smart, and dean spade. and i asked them “waffle cone or cup” and “which flavor” and it was pretty embarrassing because like, i knew the one person. people used to think my life was gonna go so far but here’s a clear separation, i’m not really ever gonna be smart or special cuz here you are and here i am
so that kind of sucked but at least i made good tips tonight
