Today at uni it was pouring down with gallons of rain and i was drenched from head to toe, and I was on my way to the library and some kind stranger offered to share her umbrella with me. Gosh I just love random acts of kindness! It's the little things like that, that brighten my day! We need more people like this in the world!

Today a complete stranger decided to share his umbrella with me for 3 blocks and 2 avenues
his name was Scott. He’s originally from Mississippi, and now lives in Brooklyn, which he thinks is a “hip” place. He lived for two years in France, so he ended up getting fluent in French. He’s an event planner. Works on the 5th floor (I’m on the 12th.)
It wasn’t a long walk, but was long enough that I would’ve had a head of soaking hair by the end of it. It was long enough for him to learn I’m a sophomore in college, I want to be a features editor someday, and I’ve been in Queens my whole life.
I was really taken aback by the simple, nice gesture. Once we reached our train stop he was going downtown and I was going uptown. His train was at the platform already so he rushed off with an abrupt, “Nicetomeetyou!” while swiping his metrocard.
It was nice to meet him, too. -
That awkward moment when you do your casual passing-someone smile in front of a mirror and notice it doesn't look like a smile.

I would be more comfortable telling my deepest secrets to a complete stranger rather than telling my closest friends. I think this is really sad, but not uncommon.
