NYC Bike Share Exceeds 10,000 Annual Members Within One Month
Today, NYC Bike Share announced that as of this afternoon, 10,000 people have signed up for annual Citi Bike memberships, greatly exceeding the rate of registrations for any other bike share system. Citi Bike will launch for annual members on May 27th. The system now has more people signed up in the first four weeks of accepting members than Boston has after two years.
New Yorkers who sign up by May 17 will receive their Citi Bike key in time to have exclusive access to the system starting Memorial Day. Annual memberships cost $95 for unlimited 45-minute trips, 24 hours a day and 365 days a year. The system opens to daily and weekly memberships on June 2. The initial service area includes Manhattan below 59th Street and the neighborhoods of Brooklyn Heights, DUMBO, Fort Greene, Clinton Hill and parts of Bedford-Stuyvesant in Brooklyn.
New members can sign up at citibikenyc.com.
