My Dashboard is blowing up with people calling others out for saying they don’t want kids.

First things first; it’s bullshit that people are doing this.

Ultimately, I don’t want kids because of my genes. I was born with more difficulties than I could list, didn’t exactly have a fantastic life so far but made do of it as I can. That’s not saying I would be a bad father, I wouldn’t. Ultimately, I just don’t want to be a father.

There’s so many factors. I’m career focused, and partner focused. I look after my significant other and I aim high in work. I don’t want to also be family focused. I don’t want to mistreat my kid because I am career focused or because I’d rather relax at home after a hard day.

As far as I am concerned. You have a kid; you look after it, clean it’s shit up. Then it grows up, you do everything for it again, then it grows up some more and you still clean it’s mess up, and yet it backtalks you. Then it grows up and you clean up its mess, it backtalks you, it backtalks you and it costs even more of a fortune.

I was going to get a vasectomy last year but I decided on the off chance that I changed my mind in a decade that I wouldn’t (a lot changes, I will admit.) 

Some people just aren’t wired that way. It’s nothing to be ashamed of. If someone thinks they wouldn’t be a good mother, or doesn’t want to be one… why the fuck oppress them and tell them they should.

True, you should never say never. But there’s one person in the world who has the right to chose whether or not you have a kid or not. So why the hell do others seem to find it their business to tell you how to live?
