This is me. We won the cup last season, and as a season ticket holder, I was able to have my picture taken with it. It was bright and shiny and weighed 35 pounds not that I picked it up or anything.
Nest: The Learning Thermostat
This has been going around the web like wildfire today, so you’ve probably already seen it and thus I’ll spare you too many of the details. But, I have to say that this new Nest thermostat, created and designed by ex-iPod lead, Tony Fadell, is certainly doing to thermostats what the iPhone did for cell phones.
It’s pretty, it’s smart, and it’s eco-friendly (which in turn, makes it wallet-friendly). Once installed, the device learns your temperature preferences over the course of a week and then will auto-adjust given your habits. You can also control it through your smart phone so that you can do things like turn off the A/C while you’re on vacation. And, apparently it’s as easy to install as a light fixture.
So, will I be ordering one? I wish :( Unfortunately (or…fortunately?) the weather in San Francisco is cool enough year-round that we don’t have a need for air conditioning. But, for all of you across the rest of the country - and especially those friends and family of mine in Texas - I highly encourage that you check it out.

Personal Pie Maker
When you’re in you’re young and without a family, it doesn’t normally make sense to bake full pies or cakes unless you have a lot of friends to share it with (or, unless you’re on a major sugar binge, which, let’s face it, happens to all of us at some point in our lives).
This Personal Pie Maker ($25) enables you to create 4 mini pies in 12 minutes or less. No oven needed. I can think of a lot of other cool uses for this - mini lasagnas, mini pizzas… the list goes on. You can also use it to try out different types of pie filling before you bake a whole one. I also love the fact that it engraves the pie edges for you. Ah, simplicity…I love you.

Occupy Alphabet revisited. Shows percent frequency of Google results for each letter. Possible explanations for difference: When a letter is repeated in a word that increases its frequency of use but not frequency of Google hits; Google has links to non-english language sites (explains the increase in K); Google includes brand names that often use the neglected letters, etc.
