Sweet, sweet girl, you are four months old!
It’s all going by so fast, and that is a bittersweet thing. I’ll never see you so tiny again, and of course that makes me a bit sad. However, you’re also coming into your personality so nicely, and you’re so much fun, and I’m loving every aspect of each new you!
We had your 4 month check up earlier in the week. You weighed 12lbs, 8 oz, and were 23.5 inches tall. You had to have a shot in each leg, and take a liquid vaccine, which you promptly sneezed back into the nurses face. It was pretty funny! You did cry at your shots this time, but it only took a couple hugs & kisses from mama to make everything all better. Developmentally you’re soaring. You can do a “three-point sit” for several seconds at a time, or up straight while holding my hands. You can stand if you hold onto someones hands and are even taking little steps! You’re enjoying your tummy time more & more. You can always lift up either onto your knees or your hands, but so far you’ve only managed to do both at the same time a handful of times. Gramma, Pop, & I joke that you won’t crawl, but you’ll just start running around one day. Dr Eiseman gave us the okay to start letting you try other foods. So far you’ve only had rice cereal. You love the spoon, but you’re still a tad unsure about the food. Mama got a special cooker & is going to try to be awesome enough to make your food as much as possible. You have started the teething process. So you’re now a drool monster, and a bit of a grumpus at times, but your seem to be handling things as well as can be expected. You’ve moved into your big crib in your own room, and it actually seems to be helping you sleep better. You’ve also been sleeping more soundly since you became able to roll over in your sleep to get yourself more comfortable. At first it would wake you up & you’d get upset, but now you roll over, pop your thumb in your mouth & start snoring away.
You have an easy laugh, and will smile for anyone. You’re an absolute chatterbox which I know you must get from me haha. You’ve started petting the kitties, and so far my reminders of “gentle, gentle” have been unnecessary as that is exactly what you are. You love watching them play. You still love going to restaurants & watching all the activity. We started a Kindermusik Village class. We sing and play and learn & exercise. I still have to help you with most everything, but you seem to enjoy it anyway, and that’s what’s most important. In less than two weeks we’ll be taking our first road trip to Nashville. I can’t wait to see how that goes!
To the first four wonderful months, and four more months, and four more years, and four more decades, and for more centuries and on and on into infinity. I love you my darling!
Obit of the Day: Oliver, The Therapy Dog
At Krause Funeral Home in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, those families that came to grieve the loss of a loved one had more than the comfort of family, friends and the staff at the home. They had Oliver. A Portugese water dog, the same breed owned by the Obamas, Oliver would be present at visitations and services upon request of the families. Fully trained and licensed by Pets Helping People, Oliver attended thousands of funerals in nearly ten years on the job.
Oliver was owned by Mark and Joan Krause. He died at the age of 9 from lung cancer. He never smoked.

This is brilliant!
