Maybe it was wrong for me to express my opinion on my own blog, but I can’t change the fact that I did.
It doesn’t make me any less of a fan to uninstall an app. The microscopic significance it has shouldn’t have been made into a huge fiasco.
This fanbase is not what it used to be and I don’t want to be a part of it anymore. I still get updates from Tokio Hotel’s Facebook, but that’s all I need to let me know when the new album and upcoming tours will happen. It’s my decision to stay out of lives that are not my own. And my decision to love nothing but the music.
When I was 15, this fanbase was my biggest support system. Some of my best friends I met because of Tokio Hotel, but they moved on and now it’s my turn. This is a corrupted and obsessive, secluded bunch, not everyone in it is, but the majority that remain are too deep into their addiction. It is honestly like a drug, with the withdrawals, denial, the feeding, and even the attacking.
I still love Tokio Hotel’s music and in the end the music is all that should matter.
