Lady GaGa isn't a bad singer. Her songs are pop-catch kitsch, and she has a decent sense of fun with style.

But she bores me to tears.

You think abortion is wrong? Don’t have one. I think killing people is wrong, so I’m not in the army. My tax dollars still go to fund it, though (in fact about 21 cents of each of my tax dollars). My tax dollars also go to keep prisoners on death row even though I think the death penalty is morally wrong. My tax dollars fund Guantanamo and Bagram, extraordinary rendition, and Jim DeMint’s salary, all of which I find disgusting. So why is abortion, a legal medical procedure, so remarkably different that we have to go overboard making sure tax dollars don’t fund it?

Okay, I’ll be honest. I sat through 10 minutes of this movie before I stopped watching. I dunno why I couldn’t. I felt like I’ve already seen it, but it was just the absurd amount of hype surrounding it. I mean, I’ve been reading about it since January when it preemed in Sundance — the “unconventional” plot, the indie-darling stars, the soundtrack, the behind-the-scenes stuff, everything I wanted to know and didn’t really care about.

I was stoked when I was able to download a good copy. But just as the opening credits were rolling, I realized I didn’t want to see it as much as I thought I did. Maybe I’ll go back to it one day. Maybe not. There’s something so hackneyed about it. Dunno if all the reblogging ruined it before it even began.
