    SUBSUELO is our monthly global bass baile in East LA .. this month the we excited to host special guest DJ Panamam!

    I was already planning on inviting Panamami to be our guest for June, but then she beat me to the punch and asked me to play at her party BODEGA last week.  I had a blast, Panamami was amazing as always … check out Farah’s photos from the night (easily 70%/30% girls to guys on the dancefloor)

    Wednesday August 17th, SUBSUELO featuring ZUZUKA PODEROSA 

    Brazilian-by-way-of-Brooklyn, Zuzuka Poderosa performed last weekend at Tormental Tropical in SF, Sol Collective in Sacramento, and with Ana Tijoux at MacArthur Park … and now she’s coming to bless the convocation in Boyle Heights.

    As always … SUBSUELO hosted by Gnotes and El Canyonazo, featuring flamenco dance with La Tigresa and photography by Farah Sosa.  Our fam Dj Gozar will be stuck at LAX, going thru U.S. Customs on his way back home from his trip to Colombia.

    We’ll be joined by guest selector Righteous Trash, who i first saw playing with ZZK Records last year, and then caught him again last weekend at LA Beatdown with Mix Master Mike.  He’s got a wide style, but i think* he’s gonna rock some sorta moombahton.

    It’s also the very Official Birthday Party for our friend Sonny Alvarado.

    what else can I say?  I’ve been a huge fan of our guest DJs Sloepoke, Mando Fever and Gazoo for a long time — they’ve ben holding down the LA music scene for a minute, and I can’t pretend like I haven’t jacked a gripa style for them OGs.  Normally i have to drive across town and pay good money to see Jose Tanaka and Antonio de Jerez perform, and now they coming to my party. 

    Worldclass flamenco + cumbia, only at SUBSUELO. Such a be weird, good time.

    + please get there early …don’t call me from outside at 11pm cuz you can’t get in.

    Wednesday October 19th, SUBSUELO welcomes LA BOA djs Sloe Poke, Mando Fever and Gazoo. Last month, Gazoo rocked the house and now he’s back with his crew from La Boa.  Sloe Poke and Mando Fever are both serious OGDJs in the Los Angeles scene … youngn discjocks should come + take notes.

    We also got live trumpet from EV DUB, and a very special flamenco performance by Jose Tanaka and Antonio de Jerez (see video below). Jose and Antonio are two of the most talented flamenco artists in the US — it’s quite an honor to have them perform at our humble weird getdown in Boyle Heights.
