Probably, anyway.
I basically need that in my life. Like right now.
We close on our house in Portland on June 10th. It can’t come fast enough! I’m so over North Carolina. I cried the day we moved here 3 years ago and I’ll probably cry tears of joy the day we leave forever.
Anyways, If I have recently followed you it’s probably because you’re a cool kid in Portland and I need friends in my new town who like cool stuff like kids and hiking and scrapbooking. I’m also in need of a book club so point me in the right direction, OK?
This Kid Just Died. What He Left Behind Is Wondtacular.
Zach Sobiech, at the age of 14, found out he had a rare form of terminal cancer. So he became a rock star, and millions of people got to see his music before he passed away on May 20, 2013. This is his beautiful story.
From Adam, our curator: You never know what to expect until you lose someone dear to your heart this way. I lost my dad to pancreatic cancer far too early. If you wouldn’t mind sharing this so more people hear Zach’s story, I’d love it. His family has requested that anyone who is interested in helping change the fate for future children like Zach donate to the research fund set up on his behalf.
Zach was local, so we’ve been following this story for a long time. Newly 18, he died yesterday morning. His life a powerful reminder to be present, and live with joy and intention. Rest in peace, Zach.
