“The first time I tried to kill myself my mom showed me the hospital bill. So the second time I made sure to try without anyone knowing. I attempted to do this in my bedroom, at night, when no one would be checking on me until late the next morning. It is about you as a whole person— making choices about how you want to live, how you spend your leisure hours, in what way you wish to contribute to your community. It will be easier to maintain a life making art if your art and life are not separate things.”
