because I still need to explain why I need feminism.
This is seriously what my family thinks I’m going to end up looking like.
I need feminism because young men like me are taught that our success and identity is measured by a surrounding of sexualized women - whose worth is valued only as a prize to be won. I need to know that half of the world’s people are worth more than that, that they are my equals.

The Brown-Eyed Amazon blog takes a fresh look at the relationships between faith, race, gender, and the pursuit of justice in a modern society. That same commitment to social justice and equality is reflected in the art found in the B.E.A shop.

I follow back :)
Today I took a nice little trip to my local “big box mart” and decide to troll the toy isles. I was horrified by the disgusting amount of gender profiling that was placed into their marketing. There was an isle labeled “Girls” that included all things pink and frilly, including toys such as Barbie dolls and jewelry making sets. Quite the opposite the “Boys” isle housed only blue boxes containing Legos, Nerf guns and building kits.
Trying to break through the “gender barrier” I decided to add my own advertising in the isles. I wrote little messages such as ” Boys can play with dolls too” to the girls isles and ” Girls can play with legos too” in the boys isle. There were a total of ten notes including two saying “Stop Gender Profiling” and one saying ” Doctor Barbie is more fun” on the ‘Nanny Barbie’.
Unfortunately when I returned to the isles after a half hour of shopping all of my notes were missing, excluding the note saying “sorry to any inconvenienced employees”.
