Hope you don't mind me asking but, the mask you made. Does it have stuffing in it? Is it made like one piece? So you could turn the mask inside out? I really love it and would like to make someone similar but I'm not sure I really understand how you went about it.

       I definitely don’t mind you asking (^•w•^)

It has stuffing round the back and sides of the head and little bit under the chin. I made the ears, nose and little face cheek things as separate pieces and joined them on as I was going along.

It was possible to turn it inside out before I stuffed it but not now.

      Here’s a few pictures…

After I made the balaclava part for the inside I started crocheting into the stitches at the base of it and increasing loads so that the outside would be a big sphere. To join it to the mouth hole I put my crochet hook through the stitches in the outside sphere, and the stitches in the bottom edge of the mouth hole and then in the next round when I got to the mouth hole I put my stitches into the top edge of the mouth hole, leaving a gap in the sphere underneath. (and I did the same with the eyes)

Here it is before I stuffed it. I got someone to wear it while I was putting the stuffing in.

For those who wanted to know how long it took, I can tell you it took the duration of Series 1 of The Wire, plus two Harry Potter films and a few hours of QVC!

I know I haven’t explained it very well but it’s hard to describe! If I make another I’ll make a video or something.

        More tips:

        • The closest I could find on Amazon to the watercolour set I use is the Sakura brand of Koi Assorted WaterColours Field Set.
        • Just use any old toothbrush. I used to use the ones that my dentist would give me after a visit, just because those were kind of cheap and I wouldn’t actually use them anyways.
        • I use acrylic for flicking and highlights because watercolour-whites tend to fade when they dry.
        • Also, remember to keep your hands clean, because nothing’s worse than smudging graphite into your watercolours and then unable to get it out.
        • Try to avoid black and white when possible. They tend to dull the colours and it loses that watercolouring lustre.

Since I started watercolouring again for my daily sketches, I’ve gotten a lot of asks/dA notes on if I could give a tutorial on watercolouring and also more specific questions that overlapped each other, so I decided to do a semi guide/tips/answering thing.

I actually started watercolouring before I went into digital medium, so I have a bit of personal experience, but I am essentially self-taught when it comes to watercolouring since there weren’t a lot of watercolour tutorials online back then to begin with, so I cannot promise that these are the absolute correct way of doing things.

        Hope it helps anyways :)

Thailand’s White Temple, Wat Rong Khun (วัดร่องขุ่น)

Located near the city of Chiang Rai, Wat Rong Khun (วัดร่องขุ่น)—known outside Thailand as the “White Temple”—stands as an unusual and beautiful mix of traditional Thai architecture and modern-day science fiction memorabilia. It was designed by painter-turned-architect Chalermchai Kositpipat, one of Thailand’s most renowned architects, who set out to create one of the most elegant temples in Chiang Rai.

The temple’s white color symbolizes purity; its glittering glass signifies the teachings of the Buddah; and the moat filled with outreaching arms represents desire. Detailed sculptures of skulls, demons and severed heads are also scattered around the premises. Perhaps most interestingly, a mural inside with images of Batman, Superman, and even the alien from Predator tell a modern-day story of Buddha.

Construction on Wat Rong Khun began in 1996 and is expected to finish in 2070, long after Kositpipat has passed. Plans include nine buildings built on an area of about 3 acres, and though it is a work in progress, the temple attracts an increasingly large number of visitors every year—many of whom share their visit to the temple on Instagram.
