World Backup Day - March 31st

    Cosplay.com and Me.

Back in 2004 when I joined Cosplay.com, it was a really thriving and fun community to be a part of. People actually commented on photos regularly and helpful conversations took place on the forums. The cosplay community was smaller and just starting to really take off.

Now adays, I find myself barely posting on Cosplay.com. Most of the people in the forums have just either been annoying or insulting or just plain dumb and have driven a lot of the people who actually gave good advice or had useful things to post out. Half the time you see photos with 300+ views and zero comments, when it used to be that even with just 50 views you’d have at least one. Cosplayers across the country from each other became best friends via Cosplay.com, but now? It’s changed. Things seem far more localized with only certain people or costumes taking recognition. A lot of the cosplayers from the older community don’t even post anymore even though they still cosplay. They’ve turned to other sites, like Deviant and ACParadise. Why? Because they’re far more rewarding communities to be a part of.

I find myself becoming less and less interested in posting on Coscom and have considered stopping altogether. (I REALLY want to elaborate on all of this, but no time!)  Has anyone else thought this too?
