    Venting about the NATO protest and such

    First off, Here is some background knowledge:
    My father is in the military and is a part of this NATO summit in Chicago. I can’t say what he’s doing or where he is, all that obvious stuff. But, I care about him so much. I don’t like him leaving the house for military stuff for long periods of time. I don’t care if he’s only 40 minutes away. It’s too far. When he was deployed to Afghanistan, I lost it. I can’t help it. You don’t understand how much this man has inspired me and helped me grow as a person. We don’t have a perfect father/daughter relationship obviously. But HE CARES. What I need most from my family is right there. 
    So before I go off on a tangent about all that… Here is my thought process:

    What is the purpose of protesting this summit? Do you REALLY think that your voice is going to change the minds of what is already been agreed upon? Can’t you see that this summit contains something like 48 world leaders, Military from all over, Police, Secret security, etc. Your opinion doesn’t matter to them. 
    Why are you going to start pointless violence and bash out windows to businesses? Because you think it’s going to get the attention you wanted? That it’s going to make a statement? No. it makes you and all your stupid protesting friends look like a group of idiotic delinquents. 

    While all this violence is going on, While all of you are starting riots and protesting, My father could be anywhere out there. I have no clue where he could be for the next 2 weeks. He can’t call to say that he’s okay. He can’t send a message saying that everything is going well. Nope. So I’m sitting here in constant fear that something stupid is going to happen and it’s going to take my dad away. 

    I may be stupid for worrying about it. You’re probably sitting there like “Oh he’s going to be okay. It’s highly secured and everything will be fine.” You can’t say that. Because what if it isn’t? What if something happens? You can’t tell the future. 

    None of the protesting people will probably read this at all in the first place. But I need to get this out there. Know how stupid this is. You can’t stand up to this. There is nothing to protest. What, You don’t like the way they govern their country? Then don’t fucking go there. It’s the same thing you use to protest the whole anti-gay marriage debate, “don’t like same-sex marriages? don’t get one.”

    Just stop trying to act like you’re making a difference and give it a rest already. Your protest is about as useful as the Kony 2012 bullshit.
