I thought I understood it, that I could grasp it. But I didn’t, not really. Only the smudgeness of it; the pink-slippered, all-containered, semi-precious eagerness of it. I didn’t realize it would sometimes be more than whole, that the wholeness was a rather luxurious idea. Because it’s the halves that halve you in half. I didn’t know, don’t know, about the in-between bits; the gory bits of you, and the gory bits of me.

Hi darling! This is such an compelling situation. I can understand why you’d want to do it and why you wouldn’t.
There are a few things you should consider. Firstly, if they’re students like yourself then you can presume that their skills aren’t fully developed - much like yours. Secondly, I postulate you want to meet people on your own (with little to no help) because of the glamorization of doing so. However, that’s quite trial and error. There’s no guarantee you’ll meet the right person doing this but at least you won’t be wasting your precious time! Regardless of the outcome you will be having fun and it’ll be an interesting experience. When it comes to playing music, you need as much experience as you can get. If you want to be in a band with someone then you need to have musicianship chemistry and generally enjoy their company. This should help you determine whether or not you have that with someone! Thirdly, you should ascertain that this is what you want. Don’t do it for anyone besides yourself, love. If this is something that doesn’t really captivate you then I wouldn’t do it. Life is too short to spend your time doing things that don’t provoke complete passion from your soul.
Personally, if I were you, I suppose I would meet the individuals you’re going to be in a band with. That doesn’t mean I’d be enforcing a commitment to this project but it does leave a strong possibility if I enjoy what I see, hear, and feel.
I wish you luck, sweetheart! Let me know what happens. Remember: either decision is correct for different reasons. Your happiness is the most vital thing here so please keep that in mind. (✿◠‿◠) -
