Email Delivery Troubleshooting

Email Verification

What’s a verification email?

When you sign up for an account, we send an email to the address you signed up with. It’s a spot check so we can make sure we have the correct address. This is especially important if you’ve enabled email notifications for your blogs.

What should I do if I haven’t received a verification email?

If you haven’t received an email from us, try the following:

  • On the Preferences page, make sure there’s not a typo in the email address listed for your account.
  • Check your spam or junk filters.
  • Add no-reply@tumblr.com to your Address Book or Contacts.
  • Request a new verification message via the “Send it again” link at the top of your Dashboard.

Email Notifications

What are email notifications?

They’re a great way to find out if you have new followers, post replies, or new messages.

How do I enable email notifications?

  1. Visit the Preferences page by clicking the gear icon at the top of your Dashboard.
  2. In the “Email” section, check the boxes for the blog(s) you’d like to update.
  3. Scroll down and hit “Save.”

Why haven’t I received email notifications?

If you’ve set up email notifications but haven’t received an email from us, try the following:

  • On the Preferences page, make sure there’s not a typo in the email address listed for your account.
  • Check your spam or junk filters.
  • Add no-reply@tumblr.com to your Address Book or Contacts.

Why do I only receive a few email notifications each day?

To keep from flooding your inbox or tripping your spam filter, we’ll only send you the first few dozen notifications.

Password Reset Emails

What if I haven’t received a password reset email?

If you’ve tried to reset your password but haven’t received an email from us, try the following:

  • Check your spam or junk filters.
  • Add no-reply@tumblr.com to your Address Book or Contacts, then revisit the Forgot Password page to request a new reset email.

Still not working? Let us know using the email link at the bottom of this page.
