Overview
Can I post to my blog via email?
Yup! We’ve made it incredibly easy to post from your desktop or mobile phone. Just send an email to the custom email address for the blog you’d like to publish to.
How do I find my email address for mobile + email publishing?
- Click your blog's name at the top of your Dashboard or under the list icon at the top right.
- Click "Blog settings" on the right side of the page.
- You’ll find your private email address in the “Post by Email” section. (You can always reset this if you’re having issues publishing.)
Can I use Markdown to create rich text formatting?
Yes, just be sure to include !m in any part of the email’s subject or body to enable Markdown. The !m code will automatically be removed from the final version.
Posting
How do I send a Text post?
- Add the text to the body of the email.
- Add a title to the subject line (optional).
How do I send a Photo post?
- Attach a photo to the email.
- Write a caption in the subject line.
How do I send a Photoset?
- Attach photos to the email.
- Write a caption in the subject line.
How do I send a Link post?
- Write the title of the link in the subject line.
- Paste the link in the body of the email.
How do I send a Quote post?
- Type the quote in the body of the email.
- Include who the quote is attributed to.
How do I send a Chat post?
- Type the dialogue in the body of the email.
- Include the title of the post in the subject line (optional).
How do I send an Audio post?
- Attach the .mp3 to the body of the email.
- Include a caption in the subject line (optional).
How do I send posts with Tags?
- Create a post in any of the above formats.
- Include the tags at the end of the email starting with a hashtag (e.g. #apple #tech).
Troubleshooting
What if I’m having trouble with email publishing?
A few tips:
- Send posts directly to your mobile posting email address. You cannot email another email address and then forward the email from there.
- Make sure the mobile posting email address is in the “To” field; it cannot go in the “CC” or “BCC” field.
- Check for typos in the mobile posting email address. Try resetting your mobile posting email address on the Settings page.
